Well, you will be surprised to know that a Taiwanese tech enthusiast Tsaik recently overclocked an enormous 64-core/128-thread AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 595WX processor to 5.15 GHz all-core, completely crushing the Cinebench R23 world record. The overclocked CPU managed to achieve a multi-threaded benchmark score of 116142 completely destroying the previous record holder Splave’s Threadripper 3990X by 105170 points. At the time of writing this article, there’s no consumer/retail version of Threadripper PRO 5995WX. It’s only available inside prebuilt workstation computers like the Lenovo ThinkStation P620.
For the aforementioned benchmark, Tsaik used the MSI WS WRX80 motherboard, and the system relied on 12×16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM that was arranged in an octal channel. The Threadripper PRO 5995WX was cooled using Liquid-nitrogen and the PC was running on Windows 10 21H2 OS.
