The iPhone 11 models that are affected were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020. “Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays may stop responding to touch due to an issue with the display module,” the company said in its support page on Friday. iPhone 11 users can check if their device is eligible for the replacement program by putting its serial number on Apple’s website. If the device is eligible, Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will provide service at no charge. Customers with iPhone 11 units in need of service can either find an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service via the Apple Repair Center. “If your iPhone 11 has any damage which impairs the ability to complete the repair, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the service. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the additional repair,” Apple added. The replacement program doesn’t extend the standard warranty coverage of the iPhone 11. Also, it does not apply to the iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max models. Apple’s replacement program covers affected iPhone 11 devices for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit. Those who have paid to have their devices repaired due to glitchy display issue can contact Apple for a refund.
