Why OnePlus 5 and not OnePlus 4?
Why is OnePlus releasing OnePlus 5 and not OnePlus 4? This has to do with this long-held Chinese superstitious belief that the number ‘4’ is unlucky. Hence, OnePlus 3T is the device which was supposed to be OnePlus 4 and now, we have the upcoming flagship killer, OnePlus 5.
What will OnePlus 5 look like?
The OnePlus 5 will most probably be an all-glass or ceramic chassis design in a full matte color called ‘black as midnight’. OnePlus 5 is said to continue the Colette edition of the OnePlus 3T which could give it a premium look. OnePlus 5 features a 5.5 inch dual-curved edge AMOLED FHD/2K display. To add to these beast specs, the new flagship device is said to be packed with a high capacity RAM of up to 6/8GB paired with a 64/128GB expandable internal storage along with a stunning camera of 25 MP rear and 16/12MP front. The OnePlus 5 might most probably come with a dual-rear camera setup for efficient 3D and depth capturing. Most importantly, the OnePlus 5 Android smartphone will feature the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with a large 4000mAh battery along with USB Type-C connector and Qualcomm Quick Charge feature enabled, all packed in with the latest Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. The phone will get the Android O update even if it doesn’t come pre-installed with it. Renders reveal that the OnePlus 5 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, which also juices the recently announced Samsung flagships – Galaxy S8 and S8+ – the Snapdragon 835 SoC, reports Gizmochina. Well, not only the OnePlus 5, the next Xiaomi flagship – Xiaomi Mi 6 is also expected to come with the latest processor.
