This international level cyber espionage operation is dubbed as “Arachnophobia” and was apparently started in early 2013 involving a Pakistani Cyber Security firm possibly funded by Pakistan Government. It is not known whether the Cyber Security firm is a government entity or not. Operation Arachnophobia has all features of a advanced cyber espionage activity which feature a custom malware family dubbed Bitterbug malware (Trojan horse) which opens a backdoor on the compromised system or computer and enables its operator to remotely download and execute files/Documents on the infected computer....

According to the IRS statement, a beginning review of that activity revealed “access was gained to more than 100,000 accounts through the Get Transcript application.” The Get Transcript service has been temporarily shut down. The hack was discovered in Samsung’s RF28HMELBSR fridge which has a Wi-Fi capability that allows a user to show their Gmail calendar on the display. Though Samsung has implemented a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the fridge fails to validate the certificates that come as part of the SSL protocol, leaving the device vulnerable to attack. For an SSL certificate to be valid, the browser must receive a valid code back from the website host, something Samsung failed to do....

The hackers leaked nearly 240 images of the couple including nudes of Eilidh and an explicit video of ex-Arsenal and Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes, 28, and partner Eilidh Scott, 25. The videos and the images are being widely circulated on social media including WhatsApp. This leak comes after Eilidh’s nude images were similarly leaked by hackers last October when they had similarly targeted her iCloud account.
