Microsoft will be releasing a separate standalone Cortana Companion App for each mobile system. However Microsoft said that the Cortana for Android and iOS will do exactly the same tasks it would do on a Windows operating system. According to Microsoft, Cortana Companion App will be available for Android in late June and for iPhone and iPad by the end of this year. Cortana on iOS or Android won’t be as powerful as the Windows variant because of various integrations, Microsoft is still providing notification support on both operating systems....

The popup further tells the users that Microsoft Edge lets you write on webpages, has Cortana integration, and includes a reading view. This Microsoft move is likely to irk Google and Firefox Mozilla CEO had blasted Microsoft earlier when the tech giant had made it harder to switch to Firefox in Windows 10, and the company even created a tutorial video to help Firefox users restore their default app settings....

Denim carries the new Lumia Camera app, instead of the former Nokia Camera-branded equivalent. Microsoft says the Lumia Camera App will be faster and more intuitive. The update includes 4K-quality video recording at 24 FPS, with individual frames taken at 8.3 megapixels, in addition Auto HDR and Dynamic Flash. The new features after update allow users to capture pictures at a faster rate and include auto focus with dynamic flash....

iFixit, a company known for “teardowns” of consumer electronic devices, decided to do a teardown of Surface Book 2 to check the internal components and performed several tests to calculate the repairability score. In the teardown video(below) of Surface Book 2 released by iFixit, the company has awarded the Surface Book 2 a score of 1/10 for repairability based on the difficulty of dismantling it, which is not bad in comparison to its predecessor, Surface Laptop which had scored 0/10....

For those unaware, Microsoft’s Xbox Adaptive Controller (XAC) is a video game controller designed for Windows PCs and the Xbox One video game console. The controller launched earlier this year was designed for people with disabilities to help make user input for video games more accessible. It has 19 ports that can be connected to all different kinds of controllers and inputs, including those used by people with disabilities or limited capabilities....

Once the problem has been resolved, the battery level of the Windows 10 machines will become equal to the Windows 8 machines said an Intel spokesman. Intel is planning to terminate the bug with an upcoming patch, which in turn will help battery life, revealed a PCWorld report. The decrease in battery life reportedly does not go beyond 10 percent, as the effect of the bug is allegedly minor. However, Intel plans to deal with the issue before the Windows 10 launch next week....

Existing positioning systems usually rely on special beacons or on simply fixing position from listening to Wi-Fi access points. Also, such Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite technologies have firstly proved to be expensive, and secondly, they are far from accurate. However, the new technology, called Chronos, uses Wi-Fi signals to figure out the exact position of the devices sending them. Chronos works by having two Wi-Fi devices, a transmitter and receiver switch, between the 35 Wi-Fi frequency bands in the 2....

Dubbed ‘YoWhatsApp’, this modded version of the popular instant messaging app was discovered by research analysts at Kaspersky. The researchers found that the latest version of YoWhatsApp, v2.22.11.75 deployed an Android trojan that they dubbed as Trojan.AndroidOS.Triada.eq. This module decrypted and launched the Trojan.AndroidOS.Triada.ef main payload. Then, the modified app scrapes users’ WhatsApp access keys and sends them to a remote server of its developers. According to Kaspersky, the stolen keys are used by cybercriminals typically in open-source utilities that allow the use of a WhatsApp account without the app....

One reason why it is being actively pursued by so many manufacturers is because of its cost saving benefits and before you ask, this will also include rocket engines. Despite the fact that 3D printing a rocket engine can be extremely complex, 3D printing has helped to remove the variables of welds and joints and have allowed to pave the way to being more aerodynamically designed.
