The innocuous looking but seemingly out of place Google Street view car aroused suspicions of Matt Blaze. Blaze, a University of Pennsylvania computer and information science professor, discovered a SUV “tucked away in the shadows of the Philadelphia Convention Center’s tunnel” that was labeled as a Google Maps Street View car. Blaze noticed that it had two high-powered license plate reader cameras mounted on top, meaning it had to belong to a government agency....

The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ sports a slightly faster 1.4GHz 1 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU processor as compared to the 1.2GHz BCM2837 processor on its predecessor’s Raspberry Pi 3 Model B that was launched in 2016. The company strongly advises its users to use a “high-quality 2.5A power supply”, as the Pi 3 B+ needs “substantially more power than its predecessor.” The updated version of the processor in the Pi 3 Model B can reach higher clock frequencies (or run at lower voltages to reduce power consumption), and more accurately monitor and control the temperature of the chip, according to blog post by Raspberry Pi chief Eben Upton....

A literal security loophole Leigh-Anne Galloway has claimed that an ATM can be hacked by means of a hole drilled in the front section of an ATM- near the keypad. She stated “It’s just a safe with a computer on top ” and therefore, are vulnerable to the same threats a safe is. To top off that , most machines run on outdated Windows XP. The compromised data includes details such as Social Security numbers, phone numbers, names, physical addresses, unique identifier numbers, and driver license information, according to U.S based digital media outlet Vice who first reported the news on Sunday. While the forum post doesn’t mention T-Mobile by name, the seller told Vice that the data was obtained from T-Mobile servers. The seller is asking for 6 bitcoin — approximately $270,000 — for a subset of hacked data that contains 30 million social security numbers and driver licenses, while the rest of the data is being sold privately at the moment, the report noted....
