The browser regularly sends a small encrypted ZIP file containing the user’s entire browsing history, including Google searches, queries and a complete list of software installed on the user’s computer, all without the prior authorization of the user, according to a recent report released by the firms. Information about the system includes the CPU, memory, the adblocker status and the startpage. Using this information, if attackers obtained the user’s email they could send a message, authenticated by its content, containing an attachment armed with a remote code execution exploit that could compromise the user’s device, the report said....

The key persons behind Hack Road are Autodesk research fellow Mickey McManus and Bandito Brothers CEO and creative director Mouse McCoy. The idea of building Hack Road came to McCoy. Two years ago, McCoy told Fast Company, he decided to figure out the future of making things. “I knocked on the door of Autodesk,” he recalled, and ended up meeting McManus, who soon became inspired to see how his interest in digital fabrication and machine learning could be applied to the trillion-dollar auto industry....

According to Microsoft, a persistent malware campaign has been actively distributing an evolved browser modifier malware at scale since at least May 2020. In August 2020, the threat was its peak where over 30,000 devices were infected by the malware every day. “We call this family of browser modifiers Adrozek. If not detected and blocked, Adrozek adds browser extensions, modifies a specific DLL per target browser, and changes browser settings to insert additional, unauthorized ads into web pages, often on top of legitimate ads from search engines,” the Microsoft Team wrote....

ARIN, the nonprofit organization that handles Internet addresses in America, finally announced the long-predicted exhaustion of IPv4 addresses in North America, with the region’s authority left with no further supply of the 32-bit labels to issue. This means that the free pool of IPv4 addresses has reached zero and the availability of IPv4 addresses no more exists. The documents leaked by the serial US whistleblower and former NSA contractor, Edward Snowden, shows Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), which is the UK’s foremost electronic intelligence and surveillance agency enlisted the American agency’s help to access the firewalls. One of the 8 security vulnerabilities discovered by Cisco’s engineers allows attackers to manipulate a target’s clock, making the victim believe they traveled to the future. Cisco engineers have stated that the vulnerabilities affect the Network Time Protocol daemon (ntpd), responsible for synchronizing time across computer networks (like the Internet, Intranets or smaller LANs). The reported vulnerabilities include an error handling logic error that bypassed proper authentication, procedures letting attackers change local system time; multiple memory corruption issues that open the protocol for buffer overflow or use-after-free attacks; multiple vulnerabilities that caused DoS (Denial of Service) states by crashing the daemon or making it enter an infinite loop; and a directory traversal and file overwrite issue that allowed attackers to overwrite ntpd configs....
