Following in the footsteps of Apple after taking a dig at it last year for ditching the headphone jack, the search giant introduced its first pair of wireless headphones featuring real time language translation from Google Translate during an event on Wednesday morning in California. The event also saw the launch of the next generation of the company’s Pixel phone, Google Home smart speaker line, and a new Chromebook laptop....

Researchers at Israeli cybersecurity firm Check Point discovered a new variant of the Joker Dropper and Premium Dialer spyware inside legitimate apps on the Play Store. Joker-infested apps with the latest variant are estimated to have been downloaded around 500,000 times before they were removed by Google. How Does This Malware Work? According to the researchers, the new updated Joker malware can download additional malware on unsuspecting users’ device, which in turn makes them subscribe to premium services and siphon off their money without permission....

Another ex-employee from Google, David Gudeman, who is a co-plaintiff in the lawsuit is supporting Damore’s cause. The lawsuit seeks non-monetary, monetary, and punitive compensations. The botnet named “Cereals” was first spotted in 2012 and reached its peak in 2015 when it collected more than 10,000 bots connected to online websites for downloading anime videos. With the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA), it is possible to run almost any Android app on Windows 11 using APK files; however, apps using Google services will not be able to function to the lack of Google Play Services. Now, a Windows hacker named @ADeltaXForce has successfully managed to install the Google Play Store on the WSA to address this problem. Researchers at the security firm, Cisco Talos have reported that CCleaner, a system-optimization tool distributed by anti-virus firm Avast, was hacked to distribute malware directly to its users through a hidden backdoor. The malware allows hackers to potentially get access to the user’s computer, and other connected systems, to steal personal data or credentials. The hackers vandalized several pages of the 45 Committee’s homepage, a group funded by GOP mega-donors Todd Ricketts and Sheldon Adelson. Several titles were altered on the website’s menu bar. Fluxion script has been available for a while and is most apt for security researchers and pentesters to test their network security by hacking WPA/WPA2 security without brute forcing it. Fluxion is based on another script called linset. SensePost CTO Dominic White says that the home ADSL routers can be hacked in many ways due to this fact.
