Apparently, multiple owners of the Lenovo Yoga 900 13ISK2 laptop are being blocked from installing Linux on the devices. Owners of Lenovo Ideapad 710S PCs are too experiencing the same problems. They were told by a “Lenovo Product Expert” that the supposed lockout is due to an agreement between Microsoft and Lenovo. However, a Lenovo spokesperson has denied claims that Linux users are being locked out and instead blamed the problem on a recent change to how the SSD is set up on the Windows 10 Signature Edition-branded machine....

Earlier this year, Microsoft had open-sourced key components of ChakraCore. This new move means that developers will have an easier time building cross-platforms apps on Linux or OS X. In a blog post, Microsoft stated: “Bringing ChakraCore to Linux and OS X is all about giving developers the ability to build cross-platform applications with the engine. The JavaScript Runtime (JSRT) APIs to host ChakraCore were originally designed for Windows, so they inevitably had a few Windows dependencies – for example, Win32 usage of UTF16-LE encoding for strings, where other platforms might use UTF8-encoded strings....

For those unaware, Notepad was first released as a mouse-based MS-DOS program in 1983, and has been included in all versions of Microsoft Windows since Windows 1.0 in 1985. The illicit eight crypto-jacking Windows 10 applications were discovered by the cybersecurity company, Symantec in the month of January this year. The Java Edition players were given a year’s time to voluntarily migrate their Mojang account to a Microsoft account. On Friday, the company announced the deadline for the migration. Starting March 10, 2022, all of Minecraft’s games will require a Microsoft account to play – including Minecraft: Java Edition as well as those who use the Minecraft launcher on PC. In other words, no Mojang account will work after that date....
