Gone in 18 seconds!!! The much vaunted Microsoft’s Edge browser that it ships with Windows 10 OS was hacked in just 18 seconds. This feat was achieved at the PwnFest being held in Seoul. On Thursday during the PwnFest 2016 event within Seoul’s Power of Community security conference, a team from vulnerability firm Qihoo 360 and South Korean security researcher JungHoon “Lokihardt” Lee demonstrated two different hacks that took advantage of vulnerabilities within Microsoft Edge, completing one in a mere 18 seconds....

Microsoft stealthily made changes to the Windows Insider preview program blogpost and the reference to “remain activated” has since been removed. It had mentioned earlier that members who have signed up for the Insider Program running a preview version would “receive the Windows 10 final release build and remain activated.” However, now it only says that they will “receive the Windows 10 final release build.” The word ‘activation’ has been removed....

Moto E4 and E4 Plus Specifications Leaked The leak comes from tipster Roland Quandt, who alongside the model numbers reported that these might be the next generation devices to the E series of Motorola. It was expected to be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop by March this year but after numerous delays, it was announced that the device will jump directly to the newer Android 5.1 version of Lollipop. The company is taking this step to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which came into effect on January 1, 2020. The CCPA is essentially the U.S. equivalent of Europe’s GDPR privacy policy, which went into effect in 2018. Now, a new report from Bloomberg, suggests that Netflix is planning to charge between $7 and $9 for its upcoming ad-supported service, which is almost half the price of its current, most-popular standard plan which is $15.49 per month (1080p streaming) with no commercials in the United States. More than a third of all North American internet bandwidth at peak times is Netflix. Today, New Delhi is considered the most polluted city in the world reaching five times more than the unhealthy limit of the air quality index as set by the U.S. government. Even Delhi’s chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has compared the city to a “gas chamber”. “Pollution has increased to an extent that outdoors in Delhi are resembling a gas chamber,” Kejriwal had told a media conference over the weekend. A new Wi-Fi standard — officially dubbed 802.11ah “HaLow” by the Wi-Fi Alliance — could potentially improve the practicality of home automation platforms, including Apple’s HomeKit. The group behind Wi-Fi says that Wi-Fi HaLow (pronounced “halo”) can travel farther and even do a better job of traveling through walls. The last couple of days witnessed leaks regarding newer versions of Windows 10 and now it is Office 2016 which is on display. The latest version of Microsoft Office 2016 February Technical Preview build number 16.0.3823.1005 is available in different languages, including the usual English and Spanish. This version of Office 2016 has bumped up from 3629.1006 version which was released earlier this year in January, so it is not a major revision of the version however it would have some additional features....

NASA is awarding $370 million to 14 companies to provide technology for the Artemis moon-landing program, which includes robotics and new methods of harvesting the resources required for living on the moon, such as oxygen and energy sources. For those unaware, the Artemis program is a U.S. government-funded crewed spaceflight program that has the goal of landing “the first woman and the next man” on the Moon, specifically at the lunar south pole region by 2024....
